parting is such sweet sorrow

Posted by on June 16, 2011

Today I am taking 3 photos down from “our tribe” on the right.

It’s hard.

Really, though, with the arrival of their parents 3 weeks ago, Amber and Ashley haven’t been “mine” for a while now.  They leave in the morning.  The Teagues have been sleeping at a guest house, but Ashley keeps asking to stay in her room.  Yesterday Shelley washed her sheets, but Ashley still wanted to stay.  She used her sleeping bag.

The house is a bit chaotic, but I’m pleased to report that the stress level is relatively low.  Dave and I have been working hard to keep ahead of schedule and really WANT to have it all done by tonight.  That gives us room tomorrow for the last minute things that we have inevitably forgotten.  Our flight leaves after midnight tomorrow night.

Some time this evening Rachid will move over to the Abou’s house.  We are so glad that they have offered to keep him until the final decision is made regarding his adoption.  Please pray for his case, which we hope will be heard on June 20th.

Rachid has been a little teary.  We are trying to send him to the Abou’s with plenty to do- art supplies, word searches, and Ashley gave him her gameboy.

So, we keep thinking about the last time we do…. in Niger- and where we will be 48 hours from now.

We covet your prayers for safe travel and smooth transitions.  Our computer is going into storage tonight and I don’t think we will be able to post again until we’re in Biarritz with Phil and Helen.  We will have the ipod and will update facebook if possible.

Love one last time from Niger,

the Jos

Love you so much. I’m praying for all of you, and especially that Rachid will have peace and always be in a loving environment where he can thrive. I hope to see him in Atlanta, but we’ll have to wait and see about that. Praying for traveling mercies for you five Jos. You are such pros at this–can’t wait to hear the details of your adventures.
