Sometimes it is difficult to share your dreams with the world.  Fear rises up inside and you ask questions like,”What if they think this dream is impossible?”  or  “What if they think I can’t accomplish my dream?”

or even worse… “What if this dream never happens and they all know I’ve failed?”

Late last May a friend of ours gave us a book called The Dream Giver by Bruce Wilkinson.  He encouraged us to read it and think about our BIG DREAM.  It was then that Dave and I started talking (yet again) about our future here in Niger.  If we were to stay, what would we want to do?  Where did we see a need?  And which of those needs were we able to fill?  The answer we came up with was complicated.

Over the past several months, our dream has evolved and changed a little.  It started as something that we weren’t sure we had the strength to do and has become something that is way bigger than the thing we started out to do.  I’ve found, that’s how God works.  He plants an idea in your brain, kind of like Inception (loved that movie), and it won’t let go.  It grows, and before long it’s almost not even recognizable.  Because with God, we can accomplish so much more than we could on our own.  We can even accomplish more than we would ever dream.

Over the next several days and probably now for the rest of my life, I’m going to start letting you in on our dream.  I’ve been holding back a little on purpose.  This morning I was challenged to believe in my dream so much that I’m not afraid to start sharing it.

I need to share our vision with you because it’s way too big for us to accomplish on our own.  Not only do we need God’s help.  We need some of you to help us too.  And I believe that as you read this (in the next few days) some of you will feel butterflies in your belly and the hairs will stand up on your arms and you will know that God is calling you to be a part of this.

So fasten your seat belts.  And get ready.  This is a God sized dream.
