ministry highlight: ABC School

This is what I do on Wednesday mornings…

I drive on over to (what I affectionately call) Chez Pat.

Mommy Pat (every body calls her that, and you can too!) is someone we met while working with the Thalers and Bilottis in the long process of adoption.  Pat is an American who has lived in Niger for decades.  She has spent some time in the US, but moved back to Niger to open a school.  She is making a huge difference in the lives of some pretty special kids.

The diversity in this school is AMAZING.  Most are from Niger.  Some are from other places like Brazil and Korea.  The school is run in French and English, but for most neither or those languages were their first.  The kids speak many languages, practice many religions, and come from just about every background imaginable around here.  Some are MKs.  Some are orphans.  Some are from well educated families.  Others hardly have any family.

We sing songs, dance, and play instruments together on Wednesday mornings.  We all consider doing this together a huge treat.

This is not the best photo, but I wanted you to catch a glimpse of Mommy Pat in the background.

These are a few of the teachers and teacher aides on their break.

The school mascots.

And these adorable faces are the reasons why someone (like Mommy Pat) would quit her retirement to suffer in this heat.

Just another awesome thing happening here in Niger.  Hope you have a joy-filled day!
