new baby days

Hello from the world of midnight feedings and pajama clad days.  We are doing very well around here in our little Hanover Nest.  Caleb is now ten days old and doing great.  Last night he slept for six hours *smiles and shouts of joy from Mom*.  We are so enjoying every moment with our family of five.

Meanwhile, back home in Niger, drama is unfolding.  To read the news on Niger, click here. I must confess, that as the mom of a new one and a relatively new missionary, I am thankful to be in the US right now.  It’s a little strange to hear reports from our friends and coworkers on the ground, and not be there experiencing all of this with them.  Please continue to pray for Niger as we wait and see what happens as a new government forms.  Literally anything is possible at this point.

I thought you might enjoy these pictures taken last night and this morning.  Our treasured friends, Brian and Juda, came over last night for pizza and ice cream.  Fun was had by all.

This picture reminds me of how much easier it is to make your own pizza in America where you can buy the sauce, crust, and toppings all prepared for you.

Sam requested BLUE ice cream and Dave creatively delivered with the help of food coloring.  What a super dad!

Brian was happy to help Nata with his ice cream.

Today Dave took Sam on some errands including hair cuts and Chick-fil-a.  This gave me a chance to get in some quality time with the two younger boys.

The weather was gorgeous, and Nata and I both felt the outside calling to us.

Caleb came along in the sling.

Because of all the trees and shade, there’s still quite a bit of snow in our yard.  And Nata LOVES the snow.

AND while we were enjoying the weather, a sweet friend delivered dinner for us.  The meals have been pouring in.  We are just feeling so blessed!
